Deposit and its payment
When the customer buys certain parts, such as brake calipers, hydraulic pumps, steering gears, etc., the old part must be returned to the seller. This is because the manufacturer requests that the part be delivered to them for rebuilding. Only the frame itself is used from the old part and everything else is renewed, so the part is like new with a normal warranty. This practice is very common in the world because it helps in the recycling of parts. Such a method can be compared to e.g. pledging a bottle.
When purchasing, a deposit is automatically added to the price of the part, the amount of which varies depending on the part and the manufacturer. The amount of the deposit is indicated for each product separately. If for some reason there is no mention of the amount of the deposit on the product, but the product still has a deposit required by the manufacturer, the customer service will notify you separately. However, such a practice is very rare and can be caused by, for example, a technical fault.
Returning the old part
1. The old part must be returned in the new part's box/packaging, along with the receipt and account number. If the part is returned without packaging/box, the manufacturer will not accept the return and the deposit will not be refunded.
2. The return can be conveniently done as a customer return (postal return code 637579, Matkahuolto's return code is 9509232 ), which does not incur additional costs.
3. The old part must be returned as soon as possible, but no later than one month after the new part has been received.
4. The deposit is returned when the manufacturer has checked the condition of the part and found it repairable. The check may take 1-8 weeks depending on the processing queues at the factory.
Important!
- The old part must not be disassembled. All original electrical parts, bolts and nuts must be present.
- The frame must not be defective, for example cracked.
- The old and new part must be the same. Of course, this does not apply to the brand/manufacturer.
